Checking GDB 7.7, it was more lenient with shortened/truncated g packet data.
That has changed since then, and newer GDB's are more strict with malformed
data.

As is, i'm inclined to say this is not a GDB bug. Rather, it seems to be either
a problem with kgdb's idea of the register set being used, or a problem with
the transmission of data.
