 Hi,

 	I can reproduce the exact same problem using OS X 10.4 and gdb 6.0;

 imac-g5-de-olivier-kaloudoff:~ kalou$ ls -l /dev/*Key*
 crw-rw-rw-   2 root  wheel    9,   7 Dec 11 18:44 /dev/cu.KeySerial1
 crw-rw-rw-   1 root  wheel    9,   6 Dec 11 18:44 /dev/tty.KeySerial1

 imac-g5-de-olivier-kaloudoff:~ kalou$  /usr/local/bin/arm-elf-gdb
 Desktop/redboot_RAM.elf

 This GDB was configured as "--host=powerpc-apple-darwin6.8 --

 (gdb) tar rdi s=/dev/tty.KeySerial1
