Linux 7.0 on AMD

I´m trying to use gdb v5.5

Everytime I try to debug a file 
If I use the command list:

es: (gdb) list

it  comes allways the respons: "I can´t find init.c..."
or somethink like this.

The only working command is "run".
Otherwise I can´t du anythink. (I compiled files with:" gcc -o -g")
