[committed][gdb/testsuite] Fix gdb.base/maint.exp with check-read1

Hi,

the commit 11859c310c "gdb/testsuite: Handle targets with lots of
registers" seems to have caused a check-read1 regression.

Fixed by patch below, committed to trunk.
