[patch] [doc] [obv] Remove duplicate Python news item. Fix typo.

I am about to commit this under the obvious rule.  There is a duplicate
entry in the NEWS.  Also a small typo.  The patch looks a little weird,
but it amounts to one entry and one fixed typo. ;)
