[maint] PPC and PPC GNU/Linux

Hello,

In case people haven't figured it out my lapbrick is now running Fedora 
Core PPC (it kicks PPC NetBSD's ass, well ok at least now the cpu speed 
code works and the fan no longer runs non-stop and I've a compiler 
written this century ;-).

Kevin and I, in considering this and noting the number of changes I'm 
contributed (or am about to contribute ;-) figure I might as well be the 
lead.

PS: Don't know what it is but this PPC keeps comming back to haunt me, sigh.
