If anyone wants to play with macro expansion, I've got all the patches I've posted committed to jimb-macro-020506-branch in the sourceware repository. I haven't observed any changes in test suite behavior between the branchpoint and the tip using HEAD GCC under -gstabs+ and -g3 on Red Hat Linux 7.2.
