Fyi, I'm re-assembling the s390 GDB from the patch:

In the branch gdb_s390-2001-09-26-branch.  One thing I noticed though. 
The top level change log mentions:

> 2001-08-22  D.J. Barrow <djbarrow@de.ibm.com,barrow_dj@yahoo.com>
> 
>         * config.sub : Added S/390 31 & 64 bit target.
>         * configure.in : Likewise.
>         * config.guess : Likewise.

but the change only included config.sub. I created the branch so we 
could both see the same thing.
