patch to make 'until location' work better

I just tried Stan's suggestion to back up my tree to last thursday; in that
tree, this patch doesn't affect the total number of failures, but _does_
affect _which_ tests fail!!

Whatever. Since the original bug appears to have been fixed already, I hereby
withdraw the patch.
