Can't close {standard input}

gas-950120, host=m68k-hp-bsd4.3 target=i386-gnuelf

I am using gcc -pipe, and it seems to be working ok except I get this
message for each file:

{standard input}: Assembler messages:
{standard input}:0: Can't close {standard input}: No such file or directory

Any clue?
