Another option would be to change the parent of CYGPKG_IO_SERIAL_FREESCALE_ESCI
to CYGPKG_HAL. Then have a component which is active_if CYGPKG_IO_SERIAL_DEVICES
and have the compile command inside this component.

However i think your solution is also O.K.
