hi ecos maintainers,
here is a small set of patches made to some of the
ecos tests, that wouldn't be meant for SMP
configuration as they stand currently.
tests are - bin_sem1, bin_sem3, mqueue1, sched1 in
kernel package and multi_lo_select in net package.
I have put detailed comments clarifying the need for
modification, that should assist you in reviewing
these (and that's why no changelog entries).
If patches are acceptable to you in current or
modified form, in that case please indicate the needed
modifications to be performed; then I can send them
again with appropriate changelog entries etc.
jiri, as you had wished to receive these patches, hope
it helps you comeout with stable SMP ecos versions for
your stable SOCs (had a brief look at your site :)).
In case any one has desire to explore smp related
issues, you can contribute to
http://sources.redhat.com/ml/ecos-devel/2004-09/msg00011.html
and here is what I have tried out amongst other things
to discover race conditions (if any) - try out
changing kernel tick granularity, timeslice etc and
any other factor that effects the execution
temporally.
regards
sandeep
