Patch: making integration of 16x5x and other UARTs easier

Background:

This patch makes it easier to add 16x5x UARTs to targets
that already have UARTs, e.g. opencores.org 16x5x UART 
implemented in an FPGA to an EB40a target. Which
works like a charm, btw!

If this patch gets accepted, I've got opencores.org 16x5x
UART drivers that I'll submit as well. (I mailed assignment
paperwork was mailed a while ago, but it still hasn't gone 
through).
