Well, exactly. That's what I was wondering about - surely I can't be the 
only one. Either way, it's useful for a bugzilla report.

I noticed it on the viper at least.

I also want to avoid any risk of operator error or (unlikely but possible) 
some issue with the cksum on the host side.
