I've been looking at this patch properly for the first time, and I'm not 
sure about the changes to flashiodev.c.

The intention, as reiterated just yesterday I believe, would be have to 
have something like /dev/redbootfis/ as a virtual directory, with each of 
the FIS entries as file names within it.

The way Knud's patch works there has to be a fixed mapping between 
/dev/flashN names and FIS entries. The only reason flashiodev.c was done 
the existing way was as a half way house.

I suppose the patch could be applied anyway, but I would want it to be 
obsoleted by the /dev/redbootfis/ route pretty soon.
