[ECOS] redboot flash backup/restore

I'm trying to figure out how to backup and restore the entire flash of 
unknown size on a router so that I can make a viable backup in case of 
problems with custom firmware.  I had read the redboot docs that I can 
find, but I have had no luck.

Can someone either point me in the right direction or help me out?
