[ECOS] how to port redboot img to board

sirs,
sorry if my question is silly but i had tried to find it on net and couldnt get there,plz bear with me!
i need to transfer redboot img to LPC2148 but i could not do so. i think the angle debug monitor is not present in my board.
after typing "arm-eabi-gdb -nw redboot.img" when i type "taget rdi /dev/ttyS0" or "target rdi com1"; it couldnt recognize target.
says, undefined target command!!
what to do??
neither it could connect by command "target remote /dev/ttyS0"

i am currently running cygwin on windows environment and my target processor is philips LPC2148.
plz help
