Hi Alexander,

I found my JTAG (BDI200) did not do the cortex so I am budgeting for a new JTAG. I am a little distracted for the next 3 months.

The good news is that a couple of other people have shown interest. I would be willing to put in time in assisting but without JTAG I can't complete the port personally.

If any one else is interested in helping please make yourself known.

In work, I am using a Hitex JTAG probe, for STM32. I have also, just yesterday, ordered an Olimex (http://www.olimex.com) ARM-USB-OCD JTAG
dongle. I am assuming that this will be compatible with the Cortex device also, but I could be wrong. Watch this space.

I am using my own CygWin flavour of GCC (built from the latest
CodeSourcery code release).

I have not used eCos before, but have extensive experience (over 10 years) of ARM7/9/11 development, over various architectures. I like the Cortex a lot. Much simplified, with great potential at the higher end (A and R profiles). I also have extensive experience of other RTOS, both proprietary and commercial, some of which I have ported to ARM

My interest in porting eCos to Cortex, is that it hasn't yet been done. I may require a working port in the future, but not at the present time. My focus would be at the lower end. I'm really only interested in the HAL, not in board support. However, that might change...

Have you made any progress in your porting?
I guess the configuration must be quite minimalistic to fit into the onchip SRAM.
