[ECOS] Flash v2 merging to trunk

Hi,
is there a schedule for merging flash v2 into the ecos mainstream
branch? What are the real benefits of the v2 API for redboot and jffs2
support? What functionality lose I in redboot when I now switch to the
flash_v2 branch?
