FYI.

I also had the same problem with a EB40-LS(daughter board with 
additional flash and Ethernet)

When trying to get a redboot compiled and running (without the daugther 
board, to keep things simple FLASH = AT29LV1024), I got the same error 
until I made a switch on "J7" which enables flash write.
