[ECOS] Cyg_Thread in C file

I'd like to use Cyg_Thread in a C file, is it possilbe?
As far as I understood (I never used C++) it is a C++  class declared in
threads.hxx. Couldn't it be possible to access it a structure or in some
other way without passing to C++?
