Yes, they do seem to be serialised, since we have
CYG_SYNCMODE_IO_FILESYSTEM set. That shouldn't be needed.
All we need is CYG_SYNCMODE_IO_FILE, to ensure that large writes appear
atomic to other simultaneous readers.
