Yes, I did consider Lua. It would be much easier to port and it's 
runtime requirements are much lower as well. Where it fell down for me 
is it doesn't have a large base of existing libraries that I can 
quickly build on top of. Once I get beyond a prototyping phase, lua is 
something I would definitely be considering.
