Did you look to OSEK?

This is an automotive RT OS.
Most of manufacturers (BMW, Volkswagen, Renault, Siemens, Bosch...) work
on it.

www.osek.org

It has specifications for inter-monitoring (network nodes monitor other
nodes).

Communication module is well suited for CAN buses.
