First, you have to disconnect your 'minicom' (or whatever
virtual terminal sofware you are using).  Then, you should
be able to connect.  Here's an example (from Linux).

  (gdb) set remotebaud 38400
  (gdb) set remotedebug 1
  (gdb) tar rem /dev/ttyS0

You can leave the "debug" line out, once you figure out how
to make a connection.
