[ECOS] About ecos network througeput ?

My system consist of MIPS RM7000 , GT64120 , 256MB SDRAM , two i82559 
Ethernet controller similar to Ocelot board.

I ported ecos to my system and compiled bridge.c and run the it on my 
system.

But I have known that throughput was 24 MBPS.
Used Packet type was UDP and each packet size was 1514byte.

How can I improve network throughput?
