The web site says after the links to ftp server for the network stack
.epk:

"However Red Hat now recommends using the sources from our anonymous
CVS server as these incorporate many improvements and fixes made since
the initial EPK release."

They way its written suggests its just the network stack thats RedHat
recommends getting from anoncvs.

But if you followed the links about installation it says right at the
top:

"The latest development version of eCos are now available via the eCos
anonymous CVS repository, and it is strongly recommended that wherever
possible this mechanism is used in preference to downloading eCos
1.3.1.

So, if you would of read this text, you would not of fallen into this
trap.

The code on skynet is simply a tarball of the anoncvs.
