[ECOS] about system performance analysis

I am planning to add audio/video to existing custom board which runs
ecos and tcpip stack already , and make it a realtime a/v streaming device
via ethernet . but i am concerned about the system performance while the
whole
stuff is working together ,so is there any general guide regarding this kind
of problem or any good method to compute cpu load in this case ?

your suggestion and help will be much appreciated .
