[ECOS] 82558B works with RedBoot, but not in ping_test (recvfrom: Operation timed out)

I found that it was a problem only with 82558B !
When card with 82559 is used instead of 82558B,
ping_test works properly! All network tests now works too.
The question is:
Why network driver can't get ESA (MAC address) of 82559 ?
(two 82559 cards with the same result). Neither networking redboot,
nor ping_test cannot find ESA of my 82559 cards. RedBoot says:
"No network interfaces found!".
When we set ESA manually in ecos.ecc, all okay now.
Link is always Up, 100 Mbps, Full Duplex! I'm really happy :-)
With many thanks to Gary Thomas for responce,
Vladimir.
