[ECOS] ethernet connection

Hy,
I'm a student of computer science's university of Verona Italy. I've got
a problem with an
ethernet connection. I'm writing my first program with sockets and I
can't
initialize the target(mipsel r3041 with ethernet interface ).
I have pre-confugure eCos to target.
I compile test program how dhcp_test.c but the test is no  positive!
I have a static address to MAC address on the net.
I  use DHCP protocol. ("Use BOOTP/DHCP to initialize eth0")

Which are the possible problems ?
