[ECOS] error: i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc Command not found

following are steps:
[root@cheetah ecos-work]# ecosconfig new linux
[root@cheetah ecos-work]# ecosconfig tree
[root@cheetah ecos-work]# make
...
make[1]: i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc: Command not found
make[1]: *** [src/hal_misc.o.d] Error 127


I wonder which file should be modify to setup i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc for 
gcc as I got an error when building install tree for my synthetic target.
