[ECOS] keyboard driver

hi,
    i am using ecos on an ARM7 core on a linux host.
   i am supposed to write a keyboard driver for our board.i have gone through the documentation of the io package as to how to write a driver.but the documentation seems to provide details only for a driver talking with UARTS. 
  please provide some details as to how i should start.
