[ECOS] Building Tools

I am trying to build the tools for the TX39 and in the instructions one 
line does not
look right and I seem to get an error from bash:

PATH=/tools/H-i686-pc-cygwin/bin:$PATH ; export PATH

It returns "/tools/H-i686-pc-cygwin/bin is a directory".

Also, I am new to unix tools, how do I show the PATH variable in bash so I can
verify what it is?
