[ECOS] Getting started with Cygmon on Assabet

I'm stuck getting cygmon running on an assabet board. I've built my
own image

    ecosconfig new assabet cygmon
    ecosconfig tree
    make
    cd install/bin
    arm-elf-objcopy -O binary cygmon.elf cygmon.bin

and then tried loading it into flash using Intel's JFlash tool. 

I can't talk to the board using either GDB or a terminal program, and
in fact, it looks like the serial port is never enabled (TxD is
floating). I've also tried using the cygmon images provided on the
Intel CD-ROM that shipped with assabet, with no luck.

Am I missing something in installing the image in flash? (or anywhere
else?)
