[ECOS] New to multi/embeddedICE

there's this section in the ecos manual:

and there's also an app note from cirrus:

that both talk about multi-ice.  i was unable to get things to work, though,
which might be related to the fact that i have v1.4 of multi-ice while the
cirrus note refers to v1.3.  has anyone had any success?
