[ECOS] Enabling -O2 option of GCC

Hi all,
    I am trying to enable -O2 option in my building.
    But the code is not working with stability.
    Are there any pointers for getting the areas where exactly gcc 
optimises and
    special care in coding has to be taken care of ?
