[ECOS] Another 8260 Question

Hello Everybody,	
Though this issue is discussed often, I would like to be
clarified in yet another area. Suppose that I manage to
get 8260 support on eCos (by writing the required HAL), 
is GCC capable of compiling 8260 specific programs.
(For example, the special purpose registers are different
in 603e Core of 8260.)
If GCC provided by Cygnus cannot do it right now, is there
any work going on in this area ?
