[ECOS] eCos and RTLinux

Is it possible to modify/port eCos so that it can work in place of RTLinux 
... or does it raise too many issues?
(if so, it would mean that all the testing and debugging in real time can be 
carried out on the same machine will all set of tools available in hand! and 
since eCos is available for almost all popular embedded processor, the same 
code can be reused.)
