[ECOS] about the application

Hi, at present I want to develop some  eCos applications 
on the target of PC and my platform is Rdhat linux 6.1 .Would somebody tell me 
that is there any application be mature ,and I also want to know at which aspect 
the applications developed more successful.
 
For example ,if I want to develop an application of text 
editor ,would some body hint me more about it ?
