[ECOS] a querry

Dear friends
i am installing ecos on my system(Windows NT),while
building the sources,ie, configuring the binary utilities, on the bash prompt a strange error is coming. it is asking to set the environment variable CC to a working compiler .
what is this CC and how is it going to be set.
