Cygwin package vim breaks the command 'view'

I only did a quick test to make my previous posts complete and correct.
/usr/share/vim/vim91/filetype.vim is part of vim-common, so it _should_ be unchanged. I have not checked it.
I tested without my workaround, as is confirmed by the fact that 'view' was tiny vim.
/etc/profile.d/vim.sh seemed unchanged, but I did not run a diff.
I want to let this rest for now, it is getting to complicated and I really don't have the time.
I suspect it was caused by changes in multiple vim packages, I'd rather not reverse-engineer how it used to work.
Anyone who runs into this problem should now be able to find a problem description and a workaround. The problem seems to be only in the Cygwin build of vim.
I'll probably keep my aliases anyway, to use full-blown vim for 'view'.
It would be nice though to have some assurance that the vim package maintainer will see this thread, in due time.
