You may run your favourite shell from the bin directory of your Cygwin installation:
"C:\Program Files\Cygwin\bin\bash.exe"
"C:\Program Files\Cygwin\bin\tcsh.exe"
replace " C:\Program Files" with your target Cygwin installation directory root.
