static vs. shared linking

Better try 'rebase -O' if you're just experimenting.

As long as it isn't mentioned in /etc/setup/*.lst.gz that won't do
anything.  You could put the location for your library into a file in
/var/lib/rebase/user.d to have it picked up by the autorebase.
