Xorg server 1.7.1 spontaneously exiting with clipboard message

Jon, my recollection is that it started with later versions of 1.16,
perhaps conincident with the time when Corinna started releasing test
versions of cygwin1.dll (1.7.35).  I'm using X server 1.17 now on both
machines.  I am waiting for another crash.
