How big are your /etc/passwd and /etc/group files?

Yeah, that sounds like a plan. It doesn't automatically solve the
problem of how to read the passwd and group files, but we could utilze
this. Something like this:
passwd: files ad # Files prefered, fallback to AD/SAM
group: ad # AD/SAM only
