Cygwin cygheap base mismatch detected error. Cygwin 1.5.18 XP SP3

first 1.5.18 is a bit old and unsupported anymore.
Latest version of cygwin dll is 1.7.16


I suggest an upgrade and this reading

You can also install 1.7 in parallel to 1.5 for a test
