"Couldn't allocate heap" - tried rebasing

The phrase "suggested on the net" raised a red flag for me.  Are you following
the explicit instructions in /usr/share/doc/Cygwin/rebase*README ?  I.e., stop
all Cygwin processes including background processes, run ash from a Command
Prompt window (not bash), run rebaseall from ash?

Maybe you're already doing that and if so, never mind.
