Redirecting $TEMP or a certain directory to /tmp

... didn't work: I tried
  mount -f E:\Temp /tmp

Afterwards the /tmp directory was still C:\Programme\Cygwin\tmp
and the command 'mount' didn't list the assignment of /tmp.
