can get 'net use' to give remote share a drive letter when logged in directly but not from ssh session

Thanks for the info.

When I run 'uname -s' on the server machine I get

  CYGWIN_NT-5.2-WOW64 xxx 1.5.25(0.156/4/2) 2008-03-05 19:27 i686 Cygwin

I'm not sure which version of Cygwin that is, but I think it is pre-1.7.X.

Are you saying that pre-1.7.1 versions have an ssh/drive letter related bug that
upgrading to 1.7.2 will fix?

BTW, my SID is in the list produced by running 'reg query hku' from an ssh
connection.

If I can't get the drive letter to set I'll have to rewrite my makefile to look
for '//yyy/zzz' instead of 'z:'.
