grep --color=auto with -i option disables the matching text color

Cygwin 1.7 has a newer version of grep.  It was announced here:

I am not updating any 1.5 packages so this won't be fixed in Cygwin 1.5.
As Dave says, use Cygwin 1.7 if you want a fix for this.
